A 45 Pulled From The Jukebox Of My Life

And just a touch more info … In 2014, I propelled myself into a mid-life crisis.  Didn’t want it hitting me by surprise so figured getting it rolling myself was the better way to go.  I made a lot of changes in my life and set out on a course of fulfilling my dreams, one of which is to write.  A [not so] random conversation with a person I had just offered a job to broke through my wall of fear over writing the book that I had been thinking about for 10+ years.  This fine young chap recommended I read Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg and I went out and bought it the very next day.  It was like hearing the shot gun that starts a marathon – I was off and running.  I’ve never been happier.  This mid-life crisis stuff sure can be fun … if you let it be.

I hope in along the side of the road I am able to share with you some of what I find remarkable, even if it’s simply finding it in the ordinary.

My Book

So this is where I’m supposed to give you a brilliantly written synopsis of the book right?  I thought that is what editors help you write and I don’t have one – yet.

The idea for the book started over a decade ago and at the time, I described it as an “anti-futuristic autobiography”.  In other words, it is about the kind of woman I hope to not become.  That statement does remain true, in part.  One of the two main characters is just that to me, at least earlier in the novel.  But her character evolves through the novel and through her relationship with the other main character, she transforms and gains some of the attributes I do wish to exhibit.

I am thoroughly enjoying writing the book and will update this section more as it evolves, both in my mind and on my computer.
