It is my Understanding that the prompt / challenge pingbacks are working again – WOOT WOOT!!! Thank you WordPress folks for your time and effort in fixing this for us!
Here’s a bit of what I’ve learned / been reminded of since the issue started on Tuesday …
- We truly are a community ’round here aren’t we? From raising our voices via the support avenues to let them know about the issue, to supporting each other’s posts REGARDLESS of if their pingbacks worked or not.
- I am more ‘addicted’ to the prompts & challenges than I thought I was tee hee. Not only for my own writing inspiration, but I’m an avid reader of the responses daily and I think I went into a bit of withdrawal from them not being there. Glad it didn’t take another 28-day program to treat my problem!
- We ALL face challenges in our lives and workworlds. So yes, that means our beloved WordPress folks too. If I can get frustrated trying to upload and set an image exactly the way I want it, imagine the frustration the WP admin and developers faced the last few days trying to solve the pingback problem. A good reminder that you can’t truly imagine another’s life unless you’ve walked a
milekilometre or two in their shoes. [I’m Canadian eh?]
- Patience. Patience. Patience. ‘Nuff said.
And that’s that. I am sorry that what I thought at first was the Simplicity of a ‘small’ tech issue turned into a Mountain of a problem for the WP folks. I do hope they didn’t find the challenge Embarrassing in any way. And I do hope that like me, some of you found the last few days a healthy challenge to your own writing inspiration, one that manifested into a Transformation of seeking out new sources for motivation.
Now enough about the issue. Let’s all get CONNECTED again and head on over the to prompt and challenge pages. We’ve got a lot of great reading to catch up on!

Ha! What is there to not love about this post?! You know what we say down here in the South: ‘You’re a mess.’ And that is a good thing. 😀

Well from a very Northern girl (born and bread up way way north in Ontario Canada!), that’s a new definition of mess for me. The one I was raised on meant food as in mess halls at camp haha!!!
Thanks Loisia. I think??? 😎

Life without ping backs was quite interesting! I also used them to test my imagination of taking a subject I wouldn’t think about usually and writing something (hopefully entertaining and interesting) about it. I like posting every day and not having the ping backs working actually made me think a bit harder about what I was writing; I think I maybe became reliant on them.
From a reading perspective, I found myself using the reader more and realising that I need to follow more of the blogs I look forward to because I don’t always know where to find them otherwise. It’s true what you say about community!

Well said my prompter friend. I too turned to my Reader more. Also backtracked on recent prompts looking for my faves in those to ‘re-find’ the poster.
Thinking a lot of us found the DP challenges since Tues a challenge with a different twist. Hoping it stretched the creativity muscles for many others too.

Thank you Kalpana.
I only have 2 tips I can share with you. The first is keep writing. Period. Just keep doing it.
The second is be you. Period. Just keep writing from your heart.
Both will take you and your writing to places you can’t even dream of yet. They did for me and I believe the same will be true for you.
You are a writer. You are you. That’s all that really matters. 🙂

Thanks Sithmini. Just so you know, the prompts are published every morning at about the same time daily, around 8:00 am my time which is EDT (Toronto, Canada) time. So you can figure out what time that is for you and just check back after that!
But of course, keep refreshing the actual individual prompt page so you can find more gems in there to read! 🙂
