I Like Roads Best. The Side Of Them.

I have lived at the following addresses, some missing the numerals due to either my menopausal madness, it’s been too long to remember or care if I only lived there for a short while, or just plain middle age:

xxx John Street
1216 Queen Street
945 Colbourne Avenue
62 Gardenwood Drive
xxx Ethel Avenue
56 Glenlake Avenue
xxx St. George’s Avenue
277 Northern Avenue East
52 Creekside Lane
66 Neebig Drive
74 Janefield Avenue
665 Francis Road
657 Marley Road

Although I have lived at those addresses, I now experience a helluva lotta life somewhere else.  Along the side of the road.

It’s the hangout for my musings, the odds & ends of my life, and slapdash stuff.

It’s the home for my not so local library.  A place I have a key for that unlocks the door to a world of life being experienced.

It’s the intersection of the passion of my life – writing.  Where my posts and my craft meet to become one through title.

It’s the green light that tells me to put the metal to the pedal and go for it.  Hit that damn “Publish” button and drive like a bat out of hell.

It’s the stop sign I need to be mindful of.  A place to remind me to pause and just be.  I never can know.  Doing so could just change my life.

Thanks for visiting with me along the side of the roadI hope that I am able to share with you some of what I find remarkable here, even if it’s simply finding it in the ordinary.  Along the side of the road.  Always the sunny side of the street.

“Not only are bloggers suckers for the remarkable, so are the people who read blogs.”
Seth Godin, author & fellow blogger

Really wanna be a sucker for punishment via more blatant self promotion of my blog?  Take a chance on me and go for a random road trip.  I can’t sing at all like Julie Walters but I have been known to crawl across ledges, hang off things in buildings, and you got it, I dance on tables too.  Care to join me?

Listen to music. It could save your soul. Be kind. It could save someone’s world. Wear a hat. It could save your life.

  1. I love your sense of humour that comes through your writing. I see some things we may have in common , our kids and love for roads to name some. Oh ya and the Daily Prompts for inspiration, I will be looking out for your hidden gems! Happy day to you!

    • Thanks Gina. Was just on your site and another thing we have in common, despite living worlds apart from each other – St. Jacob’s Market! 🙂
Enjoy your travels along the side of the road. Hope to meet up with you again here soon. Til then, wishing you a kindness-filled kinda day … Marianne

      • Thanks for the kindness across the miles, I really needed that. My heart always rejoices when I connect with someone who has been to a place same as I have, it’s hard to explain. I plan to return to Ontario one day for sure, I have very fond memories there. Yes and we will meet by the side of the road! May your evening be filled with softness and warmth.
